Job Responsibilities For Coded Welders:
* Pipe welders with a minimum of 5-10 years experience in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry are required for positions in Australia.
* They must have demonstrated ability to test to ASME 1X 1-6G positions for carbon and stainless steel pipe.
* Only combination welders with experience in both GTAW/SMAW and GMAW/FCAW will be considered.
* Welders with STT pipe welding experience will be given preference
* Prior experience must include pressure welding with 100% x-ray testing
* Must be able to work in a team environment and independently
* Pipe fitting experience and ability to read isometric drawings is an advantage

Duties & Responsibilities For Boilermakers:
* Perform the heaviest and most diverse duties and as such must be highly skilled and experienced tradespersons.
* Are involved in marking off, cutting, shaping, assembling and joining metal components to produce or repair boilers, storage tanks and other containers that have to withstand pressure.
* Also involve building, erecting, repairing, testing and maintaining all types of boilers, tanks and pressure vessels and can also fabricate and weld all types of structural and plate works.
* Generally work on a range of large building, vessel and construction projects
For Metal Fabricators:
* Perform a diverse range of duties but the fabrication tasks they perform are generally of preparation and may not necessarily involve full welding (Welders generally specialize in welding tasks).
* Studies drawings or specifications to determine job requirements
* Selects, cleans and prepares metal stock, fabrication tools and equipment
* Cuts, rolls, bends, shapes, molds, spins, heats, or hammers metal products to fabricate parts or sub-assemblies.
* Fits and assembles metal components by riveting, bolting, welding, brazing or soldering.
* Finishes products by cleaning, polishing, filing or bathing them in acidic solutions
* Measures quality of fabricated parts or sub-assemblies
For First Class Welder:
* Should be experienced and proficient in all type of welding processes and reading plans that define their tasks.
* Studies blueprints, drawing or specifications to determine appropriate welding processes and other job requirement.
* Cleans and prepares metal surfaces for welding by flame cutting thermal cutting, gouging, beveling, grinding or filing.
* Preheats thick materials to required temperatures
* Fits attachments, connects hoses to gas tanks, or wires to power sources of equipment used in welding operations.
* Adjusts controls to regulate gas pressure, voltage or a mopens per age
* Open valves or switches and lights torches, strike arcs or starts machines
* Guides torches or electrodes along lines of weld manually or by operating machine controls.
* Cleans and smoothes welds by filing, chiseling or grinding
* Cuts metal shapes using flame and thermal cutting torches
* May set up welding machines for other operations
