Primary Focus:
Rig Electrician is responsible for the preventive, routine and non-routine maintenance of the land drilling rigs and for the repair of electrical systems for all drilling related equipment of the rigs
Specific Accountabilities:
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and Government safety regulations pertaining to the worksite
Ensure the safe and efficient operation of rig technology, electrical systems, computer systems, and electronic systems.
Maintenance of electrical equipment in accordance with regulatory requirements and Company standards
Help prepare purchase orders for electrical inventory.
Preplan operational needs, organize equipment and supplies, and conduct testing of systems as required.
Maintain all company paperwork in a neat, timely and orderly fashion.
Promptly report all accidents, near-miss accidents, non-conformances and safety hazards to his/her immediate superior.
Ensure that before any maintenance activity is started, a JSA and Lock-out has been installed and entered in the journal, precautions have been taken and the “work permit” has been signed.
Train junior members of the staff to services and repair electrical equipment.
